15 October 2020: Esquire, the UK’s premium luxury men’s magazine brand, has unveiled its 2020 edition of the Esquire Edit. Designed in partnership with the Esquire team, the Edit is a capsule collection of special-edition wardrobe staples, made in collaboration with nine of the best brands in menswear, and managed by IMG.
The exclusive range consists of:
- T-Shirt by Esquire x Sunspel, ￡70
Cut from long-staple Pima cotton for softness and comfort, this is the best T-shirt money can buy. Sunspel has been making the finest menswear essentials for 160 years, and Esquire is honoured to have them feature in this year’s Edit.
- Socks by Esquire x The Workers Club, ￡20
The Workers Club is the place for classic, astonishingly well-made workwear. These vintage-inspired varsity socks are knitted in England from a combed cotton that offers superior softness and strength.
- Holdall by Esquire x Bennett Winch, ￡450
Perfectly sized for a weekend getaway, Bennett Winch’s holdall is also ideal for commuters thanks to a padded laptop pocket, external “grab” pocket and a detachable waterproof compartment for gym kit and toiletries.
- Trainers by Esquire x CQP, ￡320
Esquire’s take on CQP’s Stride trainer, a low-top inspired by classic running shoes. CQP uses premium materials, such as Italian suede and cognac-coloured calf leather, allowing these runners to slide seamlessly into your wardrobe.
- Sunglasses by Esquire x Cubitts, ￡125
Referencing the thick and angled shapes of early Sixties eyewear, Cubitts’ Judd frame is about as classic as eyewear gets. For Esquire’s first collaboration with the modern spectacle maker, the frame is reissued in special edition Esquire Edit green, with eco-friendly mineral glass lenses.
- Shirt by Esquire x The Workers Club, ￡120
One of the pillars of menswear, the Oxford shirt is essential as far as Esquire’s concerned. The Esquire x The Workers Club edition is cut from 185g Oxford weave cotton that is not only durable, but will improve with every wash.
- Cardigan by Esquire x Universal Works, ￡130
A very welcome addition to the Esquire Edit, Universal Works is one of the foremost names in workwear style. This two-tone, chunky wool cardigan is perfect for layering under a coat when the weather turns fiendish.
- Sweatshirt by Esquire x Sunspel, ￡125
Sunspel’s sweatshirts are second only to its T-shirts, and even then, it’s a close call. The Esquire edition, in forest green, is cut from a super-soft loopback cotton, and finished with only minimal detailing, keeping it clean and simple.
- Chore Jacket by Esquire x Oliver Spencer, ￡350
One of the most important pieces of clothing a man can own, by one of its finest purveyors. This Oliver Spencer four-pocket Cowboy jacket is realised in rich brown corduroy, with a collar lined in Esquire Edit green.
- Overcoat by Esquire x Mackintosh, ￡500
The perfect coat for when it’s cold and wet, but not freezing. Mackintosh’s Cambridge overcoat is cut from dry-wax cotton, so it keeps the elements at bay, but is left unlined for maximum comfort and layering opportunities.
- Tote Bag by Esquire x Bennett Winch, ￡295
Bennett Winch’s tote bag features a series of handily designed internal pockets for everyday essentials. Made from tough, waterproof canvas and lined in Esquire Edit green, it will keep them safe and dry too.
- Chinos by Esquire x Spoke, ￡99
Specialising in simple, perfectly proportioned chinos, Spoke prides itself on offering the ideal pair for any guy. Esquire’s edition sees its Sharps chinos, cut with two per cent elastane for maximum comfort, lined in Esquire Edit green.
The Esquire Edit will be available to buy from today via esquire.com/UK, and the brands’ respective stores and websites. The launch coincides with the beginning of the virtual Esquire Townhouse @ Your House with Breitling, which is taking place between 15-17 October.
Charlie Teasdale, Style Director, Esquire UK says: “I’m thrilled to welcome such luminaries as Oliver Spencer, Universal Works and Mackintosh into the 2020 edition of the Esquire Edit. Year on year the collection feels richer and richer, and the global brands we proudly call partners are a testament to the authenticity and appeal of the project. The collection itself is better than ever before, too, which is especially impressive given the many unseen challenges the fashion industry has faced this year. That we could create such a comprehensive, covetable collection is fantastic, and I can’t wait to see how the Esquire Edit develops in the future.”?
